Roof Spa Inc. uses Fresh Roof, which is not a basic roof sealant or cleaning product. We use a chemically engineered emulsion derived from chemically modified soybean oil, engineered to specifically interact and react with asphalt shingles, not only slowing down but also reversing the effects of aging. With one single application, a homeowner will add a guaranteed 6 years to the life of their roof. This will save property owners thousands of dollars compared to replacement, guaranteed. Fresh Roof was engineered by a division of BASF Construction Chemicals, which has since become MBCC Group. BASF had sales of $96 billion in 2022.

Agricultural oils have been used for nearly 20 years to extend the life of asphalt pavement. These oils maintain the flexibility of the pavement and prevent brittleness, which can lead to cracks and potholes. Departments of Transportation in the US and Canada utilize this technology to extend the lifespan of asphalt roadways and reduce maintenance and replacement costs. This treatment has been reformulated for renewing asphalt shingle roofs.

As asphalt shingles age, the petrochemical oils that maintain the shingles’ flexibility and performance begin to dry out, and the shingles become dry, weak, and brittle. Roof Spa Inc. applies an all-natural, bio-based solution that replaces lost petrochemical oils with a chemically engineered bio-oil, scientifically created with polymers to help rebind granules to the asphalt and incorporate UV protectants to slow down the aging process of a shingle, bringing it back to life. This process begins with penetration. Fresh Roof penetrates and strengthens the actual asphalt structure of the shingle, providing the weatherproofing foundation that restores the shingle's flexibility and keeps the grit in place. The first application is guaranteed to extend the life of your roof by 6 years, and up to 18 years with two more applications every 6 years.

Independent testing by globally recognized PRI Group compared Fresh Roof-treated shingles with untreated shingles and shingles treated with a leading competitor’s spray-on rejuvenator. Fresh Roof de-aged the shingles by 30%, increasing granule adhesion, fire resistance, tear strength, and other tested factors, like color retention and hail resistance. In fact, the other rejuvenator made the shingles so squishy that the whole roof would have been weakened after the application.

Each year, approximately 12 million tons of asphalt shingles are disposed of in landfills. This has a profoundly negative environmental impact, not only on landfills but also on air quality due to shingle dust and water quality due to the seepage of petrochemicals into groundwater.
